Italian Foreign Minister Luigi Di Maio said Thursday that Turkish attacks against Syria in northern and eastern Syria were “unacceptable” and called for an immediate halt to the attacks.
“We believe as a government that the Turkish offensive initiative is unacceptable. We condemn it … because past military action has always led to more terrorism,”Luigi Di Maio said on the sidelines of a conference in Rome.
“We call for an immediate end to this absolutely unacceptable campaign because the use of force endangers the lives of the Syrian people, who have already suffered tragedy in the past years.”
The major European powers such as France, Britain and Germany rejected Turkish attacks on northern and eastern Syria, and called for an urgent meeting of the Security Council.
